Oh my goodness ya’ll, Rhema LOVED her first game!!! This first game was such polar opposite to last season!!! Rhema picked out her bat, she held it and would swing (with momma holding it and helping swing), then she did wheel herself around the bases some, when the ball was hit she would chase the ball and then she even held it while I wheeled her back to the catcher and she handed the ball back to the guy! WOW! Last season all she would do is sometimes pick out her bat and occasionally hold the ball. What a HUGE improvement!!! What a huge leap in cognitive development and engagement in her environment!
When the game was over, Rhema cried and did not want to leave! She kept saying, “I want more baseball…..”. Can you believe that? I love to see her asserting herself more and letting us know her thoughts and desires. It’s such a difference than before when she was just “there” and non-expressive. We are so proud of her and cannot wait until her next game!
