We drove to a little town north of us to enjoy an event, Special Needs Awareness Day, sponsored by a wonderful group of supportive mommas. The day was WONDERFUL and there were so many fun things for all the kids to do. Plus, there were informational booths of local places and organizations who can help a child who has special needs. This was the second annual event and we were very happy to attend this year.
The bounce house was teaming with wild and crazy kids who would have just ran over Rhema so I was not going to take her over to that area. I saw my friend Sarah, the organizer of the event, who asked me if Rhema liked bounce houses, I said yes she did and then Sarah walked over to the house and said that if Rhema wanted to go in the guys was to clear it out for Rhema to bounce alone. I was SO SHOCKED and IMMENSELY HAPPY at the sensitivity of this precious lady who read my mind and knew my concern. So, we wheeled Rhema over there and they cleared the house for about 3 minutes and let Rhema and momma bounce together! Rhema LOVED it and when I was trying to get her towards the door, she said “NO!” and tried to crawl away! LOL! Yea, Rhema! I loved the age appropriate display of defiance, but still had to wrangle her out of there as a line was forming outside. LOL!
Rhema was fascinated at these little chicks! We were so proud when she got brave enough to hold one!
We rounded out the day with a quick roll through a nearby playground! It was was a wonderful day!
