Rhema is having a “Sleep Over Party” in momma’s bed for a few days so momma can keep her legs raised up on a pillow through the night. Rhema rested pretty well last night. It was the first time we did not give her any pain medication. She woke up 3 times, about every 3 hours, saying she was “stuck” and she wanted to turn over. I’m not sure if she was in pain or just tired of the pressure of the casts pushing on her pelvis and wanted to shift into another position. So, I would pull her up and roll her to the side and she would go right back to sleep. The first two times I was able to stay awake and after about 30 minutes I repositioned her on her back with her legs up on her pillows, feet above her heart. The last time she did this, momma could not keep her eyes opened and we both fell asleep and she remained on her side/stomach for around 2.5 hours. I woke up with a start, realizing that I had not shifted her onto her back and quickly repositioned her. I checked her toes and they did not seem swollen any worse than before, so we were good there. I think we will have to have our “sleep over party” for a few more days and then we will figure out how to transition her back to her bed. I’m not sure how all of that will work, but we will cross that bridge when we get there.
