We had a really good day on Thursday.  Rhema had her first real meal (of breast milk) around 2:30 AM. Throughout the day, the effects of the periodic pain medication caused her to be less alert so we ended up having to use a feeding tube to deliver nourishment for each feeding rather than a bottle.  The cool part is that we finally had success around 12:30 AM (Friday) where she was alert enough to take the whole feeding of breast milk from a bottle!  It was really neat to see Rhema looking right into mommy’s eyes while taking her bottle.  More good news is that just over the past 24 hours, she has gained back the weight she lost at birth!
