On Monday Rhema wore the colors of Sandy Hook Elementary School to show her prayerful support of the lives tragically cut short by one, who himself, was so lost. I’m thankful that Rhema will not remember this tragedy as she is too young to understand the horrific occurrence that caused my family to don the white and green colored ribbons to our shirts. I’ve been too distraught with emotion to even do a post…. It’s unconscionable, unfathomable to think of the horror the fallen endured and the void they left within so many families. As one by one the funerals have begun, it all just seems unreal, like it’s a sick movie plot concocted by a sick movie director, but I keep having to remind my saddened heart this is REAL and once again my heart begins to grieve and pray. So many folks have posted that they are doing “life” differently now: they spend less time on frivolous distractions and more time with their kids, they are being more charitable and they are praying for those affected. Such beautiful acts of kindness and love; the antithesis of the evil that drove that young man to his heinous act. Our family ask you all, our precious family and friends who pray, to join us, especially over the Holiday, in praying that Jesus will wrap His arms around those families affected and begin “binding up their broken hearts” as only He can do.
Isaiah 61:1 The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound;”
