“Now to Him Who, by the [action of His] power that is at work within us, is able to[carry out His purpose and] do super abundantly,
far over and above all that we [dare] ask or think [infinitely beyond our highest prayers, desires, thoughts, hopes, or dreams]…”
What you see pictured above is a tangible representation of “far over and above all that we dare ask or think”….Thanks to Joe Donofro, of Donofro Architecture & Gary and Nancy Maxwell….
Let me explain and before I’m done, I promise, you will doing a happy dance of Praise with me!
Our “Wagon Drive” was just that– a drive to collect wagons donated by civic organizations, churches, individuals, businesses, etc… All the focus being to collect as many donated wagons as possible and then deliver them to Children’s Hospital, assembled and ready to roll. That has been our focus and drive since October of 2012. It really never occurred to me to FILL the wagons with anything; I was just focused on all the logistics of getting the word out, finding sponsors, and doing all the preparations for assembly, decorating and delivery.
The last church we spoke with a man came up to me and said, “what are you going to put in those twelve wagons?” I was a little slow on the up-take and told him that children at the hospital rode in the wagons. He smiled and said, “No, do you have any toys to put in the wagons for donating to the hospital?” It dawned on me what he was asking and I stood there in a fog thinking, “oh, no I had not thought of FILLING the wagons!” I told him no we did not plan for filling the wagons and that was a great idea. He then told me that if I could stop back by the church later that night he and his wife would go and buy toys for the wagons! Ya’ll, I was overwhelmed!!!! When I arrived back at the church that night, Mr. Joseph Donofro, owner of Donofro Architecture, had purchased twelve bags of toys for Children’s Hospital! WOW!
The next day I was speaking with some precious folks in our extended family, Gary and Nancy Maxwell, and was telling them of the unexpected blessing of the toys! And once again, the Lord touched their hearts and before I knew it, Mrs. Nancy was pulling up to our home and unloading boxes and bags of toys, crayons, coloring books and bubbles! As I am writing this post I have tears in my eyes! How precious is it when folks who love the Lord, hear His prompting and are obedient to be His “hands and feet” here in the earth! I tear up because Rhema has been the recipient of toys and stuffed animals at THIS Children’s hospital, when she was in for surgery and/or hospitalized, and I know the joy these toys will bring to other children just like it did my Rhema! This added, unexpected, blessing has brought much joy to our family to present these additional offerings to bless the children of our local Children’s Hospital. So, with an elated and humbled heart we say THANK YOU from the bottom of our hearts to the Donofro’s and the Maxwell’s! You guys truly embody the Ephesians 3:20 example of our Lord by doing far more than we, The Rhema Miracle Team, ever thought possible!
