Rhema was restless most the night and woke up this morning throwing up, which continued most of the morning. She had a low grade fever as well. We wanted to rule out UTI and talk about her bowel issues she’s been having so we went back into the pediatrician. Praise God, for the first time in two months her urine checked out okay! Her low grade fever was confirmed by the doc and he said that he could feel some balls of hard poo in her intestines. Overall we all feel this all related to the constipation issues we’ve been battling for a few weeks now. So tonight we are administering our first Fleet Enema and will repeat it again tmw. We will continue doing all the nutritional and dietary interventions we’ve been doing and then once we’ve got her to a good state internally with the enemas we will begin her daily bowel maintenance plan. So for the first time EVER my little girl is having “potty time” and she is doing well. We are not seeing great results from this enema so we’ve put a call into the nurse line for further instructions. Rhema is handling all this wonderfully, but she is getting tired of sitting so long on the potty. It’s been 45 minutes and we’ve sang songs, played games, giggled, wiggled, watched short clips/cartoons on our phones and we are still not seeing a lot of progress. Still, Rhema smiles through it all and we are getting lots of sugars and smiles from our precious princess.
Join us in praying that we can get this under control so Rhema gets back on track soon. Last time this happened she had to be admitted to the hospital and the condition aggravated her VP Shunt; we had quite a scare! We DO NOT want this progressing to that point again and are making every effort to ensure that it does not. We appreciate all your prayers on this matter!!!
