We were knocked off our feet with some AWESOME news this week!  Rhema will begin taking “hippo therapy” in a few weeks!  There are no “hippos” involved in this therapy, just horses. 🙂

This is something we’ve wanted for her to participate in as it will immensely help her strengthen her legs, hips and core muscles which are crucial for walking.  Also, hippo therapy greatly helps with balance and gate training of one’s legs and hip muscles.   All of this is needed for Rhema to have the hope of walking and not having to be wheelchair bound.

But, wait, there’s more amazing news!  We were shocked and gasped in amazement when we found that Rhema’s hippo therapy is being donated to her by a local organization called the Civitans!  The community group found out about our precious girl from the owner of the horse ranch and have voted to “adopt” Rhema for a full, annually renewable scholarship for her hippo therapy!!!!  We were so shocked and amazed a this HUGE blessing we want to shout it from the roof tops!  How GREAT is our GOD and what AMAZING ways He provides for His kids!  Rhema will be participating in an honorary luncheon in a few weeks where she will meet the Civitans and the gentleman who her scholarship is being named after; that will be an amazing day!!!

We also been told that she may be participating in some local advertising for the equestrian center and for the Civitan group!  We are very excited and honored to be a support to both these wonderful organizations.  What an amazing platform for Rhema’s testimony to be heard, for us to be a blessing and a witness of the Goodness of our God and to spread further awareness and hope to families impacted by Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus.  Rejoice with us, dear friends who pray, in this amazing victory the Lord has won for our little family; without His hand, this kind of therapy would not be possible.  I’ve cried so many tears in the last month watching my Rhema in pain and in the hospitals, but now my tears are of joy– seeing the Hand of the Lord move on behalf of our precious Rhema.

I think these verses, from the Message Bible, sums it up….Psalm 30:11-12 “You did it: you changed wild lament into whirling dance; You ripped off my black mourning band and decked me with wildflowers.  I’m about to burst with song; I can’t keep quiet about you. God, my God, I can’t thank you enough. ”  SELAH. 🙂
