Well we’re learning about gardening and growing our own veggies. Momma is reading a lot and talking to many folks who know about growing veggies and Rhema is just excited about the dirt and the “gloves….need some gloves….” Working on finding a pair of gloves little enough for her hands right now! LOL!
Rhema was so very excited to get to hold the little shovel, she did not want to give it up to anyone to plant anything! LOL! In the end we got it away from her and we planted: 4 kinds of tomatoes, squash, zucchini, cucumbers, green beans, kale, strawberries and jalapenos. Now, who knows how all this will go as it’s momma’s first garden too, but I’ve got some kind folks who are just a phone call away who are willing to help. We’re gonna need it; every single life-line will be called I’m sure! LOL!
Papa helped us fill the biggest box with soil and then I, momma, did the other five. By the end of the day, my arms felt like jello, but all the boxes were filled and planted. Rhema’s Grandma Sandy did the planting; I do not know what I would have done without Sandy there to help! Thank you so much Sandy for helping us to get this done in one afternoon!!!!
So we have two more small boxes coming and then everything will be in! Now we wait, watch, weed and WATER! And since they are our plants, we will talk to them, sing to them, fertilize them, defend them against attackers (organic methods only), and PRAY for them. Yes, we pray over our plants here! LOL! You can pray too; pray that momma learns what she needs to so we can be good stewards over these plants and that they flourish and are fruitful. Our desire is that Rhema has fun learning about God’s amazing creation, learns about sewing and reaping and God’s amazing Grace and Goodness. Amen!
