Rhema got her new “Dancing Pants” this week!  We were so pleasantly surprised when we saw they were pink!  Bill just did that on his own; we did not know they came in colors.  She still cries when we put them on (I’m still not sure why) but, after they are on she perks right back up.

Bill wanted to make them as long as possible so that we would have the option to cut them off at a desired length.  I have not made up my mind yet about this and want to get the input of her physical therapist and her Knoxville physical therapist.

I also have a concern that due to the stiffness of the material that crawling will be difficult.  The twisting, dancing pants (from Benick Corp) is primarily for standing and stepping practice.

You can see that her feet are much more straight and she has good support for standing.  Yea Rhema!  My desire would be that she be able to crawl in them and then pull to a stand.  So, we will have to put our heads together and see how we can accomplish this using her new dancing pants.  Either way, it’s a step in the right direction, pun intended, and we are very excited about this solution. 🙂

Please pray that the Lord will give us, and Rhema’s therapy team, wisdom how to adjust these for her ultimate good.  I’ve got some ideas, but need to run them by some educated folks who’ve used these type of twisting garments before.

I had to include this mirror picture, as I wanted to show ya’ll how cute it was to see her study herself in the mirror. She would kiss herself, rub noses and would give herself high-fives!  We got such a giggle out of watching her do all this and seeing her standing for such a long length of time.  I think she would have stood for much longer had we not needed to leave.  After seeing her so interested in this mirror, I’m working on how to get a mirror safe for her to stand and play at in our room at home.  🙂

Thank you all for your continued prayers for our sweet Rhema; your prayer support and covering for our family does not go unnoticed or unappreciated.  So, our prayer  is that we, “… not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” (Galatians 6:9) This is our prayer for OURSELVES as well!  Bless you all and have a great weekend!
