Rhema spent most of the day in the ER. She behaved wonderfully and was asked by Xray technicians if she could come back and do a “workshop” to demonstrate to the other kids how to be so good during an xray. :). She was an angel! We are so blessed to have such a good young lady.
The results came back showing she is not experiencing shunt malfunction! Praise the Lord! Her shunt has no visible obstructions, there is no break in the tubing, and her ventricles were smaller than they were during her last CT scan. This is wonderful b/c swollen ventricles would indicate malfunction and require yet again another surgery.
She is still having a swollen pocket of CSF fluid on the side of her head of which they have no explanation for. It is so disconcerting to see fluid on the side of my beautiful baby girls head again. I cannot express how much it bothers me to see that again. My sweet girl is too, too wonderful to have people focus on what’s wrong with her appearance rather than see how awesome of a little person she is. This hurts my heart for my girl. Please pray that this issue will resolve itself very soon. Pray that it will not continue to grow bigger, but will dissipate and disappear for good this time.
Also, I feel it’s important, before I’m done with this post, to invite you to join us to celebrate the Lord and recognize this wonderful victory for Rhema today. The Lord is good and His mercy endures forever! Even with the current swelling, it is an answer to prayer that her shunt is not malfunctioning and she will not need emergency surgery! Awesome is our God! And many, many thanks to all of you who prayed with us and for Rhema today. Peace encompassed us the whole time so, your prayers were felt by us all.
Rhema is resting now and I’m headed off to finally get some rest too. May blessings chase you down and overtake you dear ones for the seeds of kindness you sewn to our family. Nite nite, our sweet friends who pray!
