Boo Boo Princess…

Our little family are still struggling with our colds: scratchy throats, sniffles, stuffy noses, headaches, raspy voices and now Rhema has an ear infection!  She looks perfectly perky here, but at 3am this morning she was not her usual smiley self.  Rhema woke up crying and pulling at her ears; it was pitiful.  I’ve been suspecting she was developing infections in her ears and have been monitoring them with my otoscope, but it’s not a professional scope (those are very expensive) and the illumination in the ear is limited.  This morning I looked and thought I saw some red and the bottom of her ear drum and then some fluid looking stuff so I made her an appointment for this afternoon.  When we arrived the waiting room was FULL and I am soooo praying we did not bring anything else home with us from that packed room full of sick kids.  Ya’ll pray to that affect too please!  It was confirmed by the doc, one ear is infected and the other ear is somewhat red.  So, she is not on antibiotics and hopefully it will completely get her over this crud that has come and gone and is back for this second round.

After the docs we ran by Publix grocery and I remember my sister telling me that the bakery gives out free cookies to kids.  So it’s official, Rhema has her Publix Cookie Card and she can attest that the cookies are “yummmm”!  She is so cute!  Rhema still will not bite into a cookie, it’s like she doesn’t know what to do with it, so I held it and broke little pieces off and gave them to her.  She was so very excited about it and kept saying “taste, taste!”  Yep, cookies make boo-boos in ears feel all better, but we will still give the antibiotics a go since the doc went through all that trouble.  Too bad they cannot just prescribe the cookies, I bet they work just as well…. smile…
